I will answer on Stanley's behalf. Blackpool is a holiday destination - started to be frequented by the working classes about a hundred years ago when the workers got two weeks annual leave. It has six miles of lights - worth going down the front on a tram to see the lights. There is a tower - a smaller model of the Paris Effel Tower. There are activity rooms at the base of the tower such as a ballroom. Jonathan says the American equal might be Ocean City.
